Default St Anjeka Shrine Mo/Me Bots

Anyone else seeing alot of Mo/Me bots in St Anjeka shrine recently?

Normally in a wierd area like Korea / International zone but as regular as clockwork spawns and movements, always "offline" and never talk.

If it looks like a bot, acts like a bot, then its probably a bot?

Yes, seen one or two Mo/Me farmers in St Anjekas' over past few weeks. They are probably farming the quest "A New Escort" for rare Canthan items.

I did much the same thing to get Legendary Survivor on my ele, using an Terratank build. Drops are pretty decent overall. Collected quite a few Echovalds and Gothic Defenders.

Maybe not. How many did you try to talk to? I farm that quest occasionally (as e/mo, not mo/me), and I usually appear offline because I constantly get dc'ed from the friends server. And I never talk in the outpost local chat. What is there to talk about, for the fraction of a second that I'm in there? Be careful about making accusations like this... you could easily be wrong..

But on the other hand, if there was any farm that was likely to be botted, it would probably be that one, since it's so simple. All you have to do is maintain enchantments and pull the dragon moss away from the warden patrol. I know nothing about making bot programs, but I imagine that something like that is really simple to automate. So, I guess it's possible.

But I never see that many people in there. Even when dragon roots were the traveler item, there was only a few people doing it at any one time. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong districts though.

A way many players used to "bot test" a suspicious player was to all crowd round the merchant and storage box in Rilohn Refuge and bots used to freak as their path was blocked - actual players used to make detours and avoid us - but this was in Rilohn Refuge ages ago when bots almost outnumbered the few players there.
I tend to ignore local in some places and use a mo/d ( bergen ) but i always differ my route each time just so i dont get the old arguements from players that im a bot.

Why would a bot be freaked out by players crowding the Storage and Merchants? There is no clipping between players in an outpost... or do they mess up because of something else?

I don't think players ever blocked in outposts, if they did then the bots would mess up the bots!

You used to be able to invite them to party in places like Elona Reach and they would "click" what they thought was the entermission button and accept instead, you could then enter mission and watch the bot work (or not sometimes as your presence messed up the script to find the ghost).

No, you could never body block in town. If you could, we'd constantly get a bunch of morons using golem tonics to block the exits from towns.

Not sure how it worked but the bots had a pre set route to storage first then merchant and if enough ppl stood infront the bots somehow wasnt able to use storage or merchant - may have been some pathing issue or something - this was tho around 2 1/2 yrs ago

Farming the 6 Jade Brotherhood Knights right outside. It is alright but gets boring very quickly.

there's a Mo/Me bot in St Anjeka Korea 1 right now.

Doesn't talk to you, accept trade attempt or anything.

Just spawns every 2 minutes 10 seconds with the predicability of an atomic clock, presses X to turn round, waits half a second, presses R to run and after approx 1 second alters course towards the exit by a slight use of the arrow key route alteration (the exact same amount of route adjustment in the same place every time).

And then spawns 2 minutes 10 seconds later and does it all again.

A quick google shows that a bot script is out there for Mo/Me builds - is Anet going to do anything about it I wonder?

Is that a big matter a few bots farming worthless items when thousands of players are repeatdly farming ectos or gemstones ?
Even if they nerfed it , bot users would still go on an unknown place , even to farm 1k every 30mn...

That's like saying the EULA only applies to certain instances of botting, where Juvenile Termite Leg bots are permissible but Saurian Bones are not.

Look, its a thread about Bots and there is ample evidence to show that a Bot script is active in St Anjeka and that it needs attention drawing to it.

Your follow up poster Plutoman is also correct - some of the game's most valuable items drop there (although a Bot may not pick them up) - for instance I had a q12 Echovald drop with +10 vs demons single mod which someone bought for 17e.

the botting will reduce drops for genuine farmers, such as myself.

I perfectly agree with you , but i'm just telling what ANET will do regarding of past update and job done....They do usually care of something with 70 pages on thread and an area which is overfarmed... ToPk got it and places such as UW or DoA would get instantly patched if there were many bots there....

Here , there are very few bots at the moment and if you consider the chance you get something really valuable there compared to the number of DoA and UW farmers , for sure nothing will be done .....My argument is, once again, just that if you think that those few bots will cause economy and price drops , then just look at Shadow form skill....

Lad who I was in a Guild with a few years back got banned for botting Raptors outside Rata Sum. Hardly makes the UW / FoW comparison stack?

Simple fact is that botting should cause accounts to be banned. There is some happy hunting grounds in St Anjeka Shrine at the moment.
